Das Chymische Lustgärtlein Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, 2014 Beat Wismer präsentiert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z2a9_v07sQ Inspiriert vom bildhaften und geistigen Reichtum des „Viridarium Chymicum“ von 1624 führen wir die „Gartenarbeit“ mit den Mitteln unserer Zeit fort. Wir arbeiten mit der Kosmetik und Medizin welche ewige Jugend und Schönheit versprechen, mit dem Wunderglauben von fabulierlustigen Politikern, mit industrieller Nahrungsmittelproduktion und mit den Musen der Fantasie, welche von der Sonne der Imagination beschienen werden. Das Potential der möglichen Wachstumsformen der Kunstdüngerkristalle wird durch verschiedene Experimente ausgelotet. Hier kommen allerhand alchemistische Zutaten der Gegenwart intuitiv zum Einsatz: Präsenzkatalysator, gefriergetrockneter Anstand, geronnenes Licht, Schamgefühlverzögerer, Anti-Bio-Tika, Gravitationsrausch, kondensierter Komfort, verflüchtigte Scheinlösung, pulverisiertes Haushaltsdefizit, Steroide, Multiversum, Science with an absolutely unreal taste, Fertigsuppenmischung, gemahlene protestantische Einzelseele, oxidierter Idealismus, Nervenwärmertau, anzügliches Eis, Neidisches Ektoplasma, Sexy Bewusstsein, Biologisches Goldeselfutter… |
The Chymical Pleasance Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, 2014 Beat Wismer presents: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z2a9_v07sQ Drawing inspiration from the pictorial and intellectual wealth of the “Viridarium Chymicum” (1624), we use modern-day means to continue this “garden work.” To this end we take cosmetic and medicinal products that promise eternal youth and beauty and add the belief in miracles that characterizes talkative politicians with the products of food industry, mix these with the muses that ignite the fantasy while illuminating them with the sunshine of imagination. These different experiments all explore the growth potential contained in the crystals that make up artificial fertilizer. Our intuition guides us in our use of all kinds of alchemical ingredients that are widely available today: the catalyzer of presence, freeze-dried decency, coagulated light, sense of shame retardant, anti-bio-tics, gravitational ecstasy, condensed comfort, evaporated quasi-solutions, pulverized budget deficits, steroids, multiverses, science with an absolutely unreal taste, instant soup, the individually ground souls of protestants, oxidized idealism, nerve warming dew, insinuating ice, envious ectoplasm, sexy consciousness, biological gold-donkey food… |
